It is hard to believe it is already 2013.  Here at IBCHK we are looking for and listening to the Lord as He speaks to us of who we are becoming and how we shall join Him in ministry for the 2013 calendar year.

Last year we held our first Semi-annual General Meeting in order to reduce the time period between major vision-sharing and ministry planning.  Of course the Ministry Team Leaders meet periodically, but it is good to have most of the church members and participants present while we plan and communicate ways we are called to join the Lord in His work in the coming days. The Annual General Meeting will be Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 pm.  A pot-luck meal at 6:00 pm will precede the meeting.

I want to encourage every family to join us during each of our monthly prayer vigils.  Most of the time we are not able to fill up the list that is on the wall just outside the church office.   Indeed prayer is one of the primary reasons the church exists.  Please make prayer a priority and take this as encouragement to join others who believe as the saying goes, “Prayer Changes Things!”  It changes things beginning with those who pray!  I am sure many pray who do not sign up for our prayer vigils, but think of your participation as an encouragement for others who need to pray and also to be prayed for!

I want to commend the church staff for their faithfulness and continuous contributions to the ministry of IBCHK.  I am very thankful for Candy and Patty in the church office.  They are persistent, cheerful, and always willing to do what is necessary to keep us on administrative, business and ministry schedule.   They definitely make me a better person and pastor.  It is also great to have Perry So as our new Minister to Youth and Young Adults.

I know I cannot list everyone who helps, such as all those on committees, so for those unmentioned, “THANK YOU and God Bless!”

We are a community of hospitality.  We welcome guests and members alike and hope you will join us soon for worship and Bible Study.
