The monthly prayer vigil will be Nov 5 & 6, 2011. Plan to sign up for a 30 minute time period and pray for the needs of IBC members and our mission efforts around the world. The sign-up board is in the hall just outside the office.

DR THOMAS LEUNG IN-SING
The Ladies’ Fellowship is pleased to invite you and your friends to attend two lectures by renowned Christian evangelist and authority on Asian religions Dr Thomas Leung In-Sing. The lectures are open to both men and women and will be conducted in English.

GUEST PREACHER – DR. RAMESH RICHARD
Dr. Ramesh Richard from Dallas will be our guest preacher on Sunday November 13. He is an excellent teacher, an accomplished speaker, a devoted husband and father, and fine communicator of God’s word. Please make him feel welcome as IBC does so well.

Dear friends in the Faith and Guests on our Website,

We are farther along on the journey of faith than our website indicated recently. Isn’t that the way life goes: you write a letter, verbalize a position or condition, summarize how you are and what you’re doing, and then a year goes by and you haven’t updated all these parts of your life?

So we continue on our journey of faith in beautiful Hong Kong. We have learned a lot, seen a lot, and experienced a lot of God’s grace and blessings as well as some challenges. We have mostly learned to negotiate transportation in Hong Kong, and are rarely lost anymore (sometimes confused, but rarely lost)!

The International Baptist Church is doing well also. This year we have had steady attendance for worship and life-groups (Sunday School) and we have baptized six new believers. Our music ministry has grown as many people have participated in music groups for all ages. Budget offerings have exceeded the expenses, and we are seeking to grow deeper in the expressions of our faith and the depth of our love for Christ, lost people, fellow believers and each other.

Along with the warm fellowship of the faithful “in house”, we continue to be amazed at what God is doing through our participation in ministries like Taste of Grace, Shanti Ministry, prison outreach, youth Shillage meetings, Home of Loving Faithfulness, and prayers for members living in China.

We have also recently reoriented the layout of the worship center and are enjoying an improved sense of community and communication. We greatly appreciate our church member/technicians who have worked many hours in this conversion and continue to support our weekly services.

Please pray for us as we continue to nurture the call in each other and share the Good News, both as we gather to worship and learn, and as we move back into our lives each week to be witnesses for Christ.

Hope you can join us soon. We will treat you like family and that is a good thing where we come from!
